Jesus said, "There are other sheep which belong to me that are not in this sheep pen. I must bring them, too." - John 10:16 (TEV)
In this passage Jesus assures us of his care for his sheep and adds that his chosen ones are free to come and go from his enclosure to find pasture. He also affirms that before his work is complete, he will gather in more sheep.
When i see this passage, i feel comfort because i believe that Jesus will do whatever he can to gather in more sheep. Its not an easy thing and there are no easy way to lead more people coming to Jesus. I'm happy that i get to know him and believe in God since very young age.
This passage also remind me a very important thing when i read "The Upper Room".According to Madill (2010), Jesus calls may not be people I would choose to be with. I may dismiss them as not belonging Jesus' flock because their ways of practicing their faith are different from mine.
There are many examples in the bible about God calling people we probably would not choose: Mosses killed a man. Samuel was only a boy. Rahad was a prostitute. The woman at the well was a social outcast. Peter denied even knowing Jesus, and Paul helped hunt down Jesus' followers................ (Madill.B, 2010)
Therefore, as we noticed, anyone we meet may well be among the "other sheep" Chris has chosen for his fold. Perhaps when meeting people who are not yet Christians, I should consider that they are on their way to Jesus, that they will soon be part of the flock too. (Madill.B,2010)
Thought for the Day
Love others as you find them,
not as you wish they were.
